Our St Vincent de Paul HOWARD location is HIRING! We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our Howard store team. We have an opening for a Donation Area Attendant. Full-time 40 hrs position. Candidate should have availability on days between Monday to Saturday between 10:30 am and 6:30pm as scheduled. Candidate should have forklift experience, or the ability to be forklift certified. The candidate will work closely with other team members to provide customers with a positive experience at our stores in alignment with the mission of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.

This position is a physical, hands-on job. You'll be on your feet moving about, lifting, carrying and unloading objects. Promptly resolving customer complaints if they arise while maintaining a tidy, safe, stocked and organized donation area. Based on the daily needs and goals for the store, a Donation Area Equipment Operator may accept and process customer donations; load and unload cars/trucks; sort items for processing; transport items within donation area/warehouse; and maintain the inside and outside of the donation area. This position is required to work indoors and outdoors in rain, cold and heat. The candidate may be asked to work the sales floor and straighten or stock items. It's a fun opportunity to gain retail experience in a thrift store environment.

Education and Experience

· High School or equivalent

· Reading and math skills

· English proficiency is required; bilingual is a plus

· Previous experience working in retail or dock a PLUS, but will train

· Ability to remain calm and focused during stressful situations

* Attendance is a MUST and must have reliable means of transportation

The employee is continuously standing and walking, climbing, frequently bending and twisting; reaching above shoulders with hands and arms; operating a forklift, pushing/pulling carts or donations/furniture with use of dolly and lifting merchandise and objects up to 50 lbs for donation positions.
