Job Description:
The Center for Policing Equity is seeking a Donor Data Specialist to join our growing Development team. The Donor Data Specialist will provide support with the day-to-day operations related to our donor database, with an emphasis on processing gifts, corresponding with donors, importing and exporting data files, creating & updating constituent records, and helping to maintain the overall integrity of our data.

The Data Specialist reports to the Manager, Donor Data & Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Gift processing: Demonstrate proficiency with donor database software to process and record gifts daily, including online gifts, electronic funds transfers, third-party platforms, and donor-advised funds
- Gift acknowledgment: Oversee the acknowledgment and recognition of gifts, pledges, payments, and tributes
- Data management: Accurately enter and update constituent data to ensure information is current, including updating addresses, linking relationships, and eliminating duplicate records
- Database maintenance: Assist with ongoing data maintenance, audits, and clean-up
- Reporting: Under the guidance of the Manager, Donor Data & Analytics, assist with responding to internal requests for information, with the ability to create, run, troubleshoot, and help others with database queries and reporting functions
- Document management: Appropriately maintain and file gift and constituent correspondence
- Contribute to team discussions around how to collect, enter, prepare, and visualize data
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information
- Provide additional support to the team as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to process donations and manage constituent records. Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred
- Familiarity with non-profit fundraising operations
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to navigate and anticipate requests for data and to solve complex technical problems
- Strong organizational skills, with superb attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Fluency with Google Sheets, Excel spreadsheets, and CSV files
- Demonstrated interest and commitment to racial justice
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
