Driver Recruiter
Job Summary
The driver recruiter is responsible for implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract and retain qualified drivers.
Essential Functions

- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
- Collaborates with the human resources manager to identify and draft detailed and accurate job postings and hiring criteria.
- Screens applicants and selects qualified candidates.
- Conducts interviews and recommends candidates for hire.
- Prepares offer letters and guides candidates through the onboarding process.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policy.
- Conducts background screenings, motor vehicle reports, and schedules preliminary drug testing to ensure compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Proactive, independent, with the ability to take initiative
- Familiarity with DOT / FMCSA regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position regularly uses standard office equipment such as, copy machines, laptop or desktop computers, multi-line phones, scanners, and fax machines. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- At least 1 year of previous recruiting experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2 years previous experience recruiting long–haul truck drivers highly preferred.
