GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Non Fidelity Act Drug and Alcohol Specialist will assist the case management teams in working with the substance abuse issues presented by adult case management consumers

ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS:

1. Assess targeted case management consumers for drug and alcohol issues to help the case managers and teams determine the appropriate level of service that the consumer needs

2. Assist case managers and consumers in accessing services

3. Meet with case managers and teams to discuss the drug and alcohol issues of their consumers

4. Serve as a consultant to provide education to consumers, case managers and other staff members as needed

5. Provide direct service to consumers with drug and alcohol issues to help them receive and maintain participation in treatment

6. Provide crisis intervention as needed

7. Actively participates in staff meetings in accordance with Community Council and licensure requirements, attend in-service training to achieve, maintain and enhance professional competence. Interact professionally with clients, co-workers, families and /or community members.

8. Adhere to policies and procedures of Community Council.

9. Perform related duties; special assignments and projects as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

PREREQUISITES & QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

· Master’s Degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work,

counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related

field.

· Bachelor’s Degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work,

counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related

field and 1 year of clinical experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or

human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

· Associate Degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work,

counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related

field and 2 years of clinical experience (a minimum of 3,640 hours) in a health or

human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

Proof of current car insurance with minimum limits of $100,000 per occurrence and $300,000 aggregate.

Ability to complete documentation as required by Agency standards.

Physical requirements: Ability to administer CPR and create and maintain a nurturing environment. Regularly requires walking, standing, repetitive wrist/hand movement. May require lifting up to 10lbs. (1/4 of the workday), requires continuous normal hearing (40-60 decibels with correction), and vision 20/20 or 20/20 with correction. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalations, or other chemical substances or controlled substances

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.19 per hour
