Devereux/TCV Community Services is Hiring Immediately for a casual DUI (Driving Under the Influence) Highway Safety Instructor!
$30.00 to $35 hour - MUST have Alcohol Highway Safety DUI Instructor Certification!
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline AND Alcohol Highway Safety DUI Instructor Certification (CRN) required; and- Three (3) years of experience facilitating Alcohol Highway Safety classes and drug and alcohol treatment groups.
- Act 33/34, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances required.

Position Type: This is a casual position which requires flexible hours to include day, evening, and/or weekend work up to 28 hours a week to meet program and client needs. Changes and/or additional hours must be pre-approved by direct supervisor.
Position Location: Various locations, including South Side or Bridgeville site, or facilitate AHSS at the DUI Hotel.
The primary purpose of the DUI Specialist position is to complete drug and alcohol assessments to determine the level of care needed for the client to satisfy the court mandated treatment required by the new DUI law; and to facilitate education and intervention, and/or treatment groups to create an environment in which clients can explore the extent of their drug/alcohol use and its impact on their lives and that of their family members. Referrals for additional treatment are an essential aspect of this position and services are provided in accordance with TCV/Devereux's mission and values as well as the regulations set forth by the Pre-Trial Services Allegheny County Alcohol Highway Safety Program acting in accordance with Penn Dot standards. Specifically, the DUI Specialist position is designed to:
Respond to emergent referrals, client issues/needs, to support client served and the courts.- Conduct DUI Alcohol Highway Safety classes.
- Conduct DUI Drug and Alcohol assessments as assigned by supervisor (in office, tele-assessments, jail assessments.
- Conduct DUI intervention and or/ treatment groups.
- Facilitate scheduling DUI class based on assessments.
- Schedule and maintain records of class and group attendance; monitor AA attendance per policy
- Collect and record payments from clients ensuring accuracy in all transactions
- Complete all documentation in accordance with federal, state, and county regulations and requirements
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to be Successful in this Position include:
A thorough knowledge of the DUI laws, public speaking, group interpersonal dynamics and an overall view of the community-based treatment resources.- Knowledge of addiction and an ability to balance the needs of the DUI program, clients and staff.
- Adept in setting appropriate therapeutic boundaries and following all organization rules, regulations and procedures.
- Competency in basic computer knowledge required, including Microsoft office and the ability to use email.
- Able to make decisions and act in accordance with the TCV/Devereux's policies and procedures.
