Job description
We are seeking a creative and passionate teacher for our Early Childhood program. The candiate should have the following attributes:
- Have enthusiasm to teach young children
- Ability to create a loving, nuturing and warm environment
- Knowledge and skill to plan lessons to teach young children the Core Content in order to meet NYS Next Generation Learning Standards
- Understand the basics of motor development, the different ways children learn and early language and literacy development
- Good organizational and classroom management skills
- Ability to develop a child centered classroom where children learn through play and exploration
- Responsible for child and classroom assessment activities including recordkeeping, child observations and portfolio development
- Ability to communicate with parents, work collaboratively with colleagues and possess good interpersonal skills.
Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood/Elemenatry Education and be in the process of obtaining a Masters degree
Possess or be on track to obtain one of the following NYS professional teaching license:
- Early Childhood Birth-2
- Common Branch N-6
- Students with Disabilities Birth - 2
