ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL RECEIVE CONSIDERATION(ANTICIPATED OPENINGS)Position Title: Early College Engagement Specialist (Grant Funded)Location/Dept.: Haverhill High School Work Year: August 2022 - June 2023Effective Date of Position: 2022-2023 School YearSalary: $55,000 - $65,000Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Responsible to the Principal of Haverhill High School and the Supervisor of School Counseling K-12 who are responsible to the Superintendent of Haverhill Public Schools.Description: The Haverhill Public Schools is currently seeking a full-time Early College Engagement Specialist for its Early College Program (ECP). The Early College (EC) program model was implemented in collaboration with Northern Essex Community College (NECC). The EC program is designed to offer traditionally underrepresented students the opportunity to receive college and career services.These students take college-level courses at a college campus while simultaneously completing high school. Job Goals and Responsibilities: The Engagement Specialist for the Early College Program will focus on program exposure and engagement with school staff, families, and prospective and current EC students. This position is pivotal in the recruitment process for the Early College Program as the program aims to target interested students as early as 9th grade. Statement of Duties: ?Assist with the development and implementation of a recruitment plan to target underrepresented populations in the program.
?Assist with the development of criteria for identifying prospective students earlier in their school career. ?Track and support early-identified students, and provide continuous guidance as they move from interest to registration during the 9th and 10th grades. ?Provide support to students with the application process, career/major pathways selection, and navigating academic challenges. ?Assist with coordination and implementation of the student orientation process.
?Engage and document outreach efforts with 9th and 10th Grade students and families. ?Coordinate and host family engagement events (virtual and in-person). ?Establish and maintain positive relationships with teachers, education staff, and community-based organizations. ?Collaborate with HHS teachers and guidance counselors to identify potential candidates and increase awareness about the EC program.
?Regularly provide data and evidence-based updates, progress on goals, and next steps to the Early College team. ?Perform other tasks and general program needs (needs may include: daily bus attendance, EC student advising/support, material distribution). Qualifications: ?Bachelors Degree in Education or related field preferred. ?Three to five years of directly related experience working with youth development/coaching, college/career access, youth academic enrichment, and/or family support programs preferred.
?Bilingual preferred (Spanish). ?Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents, and diverse populations in various settings. ?Strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills. ?Proficient at using technology such as MS Office, Google Drive, and database management.
?Ability to work collaboratively with others on a team. ?Ability to manage confidential records/information. ?Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. ?Ability to work proactively and efficiently to accomplish team goals and program deadlines.
