Insider is hiring an editorial assistant fellow to join the managing editor team to help our growing newsroom.
The fellow will support the managing editor team as we bring new talent into the newsroom and help reporters grow and learn in their careers. This person will have the opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of a fast-paced, innovative digital newsroom by working across all different teams and departments. The fellow will take on administrative duties to help our newsroom run smoothly.
We're looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, is organized, and has endless enthusiasm for digital journalism.
Some responsibilities will include:
- Posting jobs to various job boards
- Managing newsroom resources and email lists
- Drafting and sending offer letters on behalf of the ME team
- Scheduling interviews
- Sending newsroom notes and reminders
- Generally helping the ME team keep track of updates regarding new hires, goal setting, or career development moves
Fellows are paid $20 an hour, and they are expected to work 40 hours a week. Fellows will also be eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits on their 91st day of employment.
