JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Youth Education Outreach Center at Penn State Behrend seeks a creative, collaborative, process-driven leader to join our team. This position will be filled as an Education Program Specialist 2 . The successful candidate will assist the Director of Youth Education Outreach with campus wide youth outreach initiatives including College for Kids and the annual STEAM Fair along with various K-12 programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the College for Kids program. Plan and deliver the summer enrichment program which includes budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating all aspects of the program. Recruit, hire and manage instructors and student coordinators.
  • Assists with coordinating K-12 programs such as Women in Engineering, Math Options, 21st Century Kids, and more.
  • Initiates, strategizes, leads, and delegates activities related to program delivery, logistics, and improvement of administrative operating practices and workflow efficiencies.
  • Resolves complex inquiries while ensuring compliance with work unit and/or University policies and procedures, by investigating/researching issues, compiling background materials, drafting reports, and making recommendations.
  • Oversees the annual STEAM Fair.
  • Coordinate and manage youth online registration program.
  • Develop and coordinate a quarterly newsletter.

Typical Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher plus 2 years of related experience o r an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office 365 products (including outlook and Teams) or similar platform.
  • Familiarity with LionPATH (or similar system) preferred.
