The EL College, Career, and External Learning Opportunity Coordinator will work primarily with English Learner students, parents, faculty and community members to ensure that every RHS student can experience an external learning opportunity early college/dual enrollment course, internship or job shadow experience to prepare students for the rigors of college, career and overall citizenship. The EL College & Career Coordinator will build partnerships with institutions of higher education, business and civic organizations and individuals in the Revere community to develop processes for EL students to access ELOs. In addition, the CCELO Coordinator will build programs and practices at RHS to raise college aspirations and matriculation and workforce opportunities and skills. The EL ELO coordinator will work with individual students, groups as well as collaborate with teachers and other ELO counselors.Reports directly to the building principal/designee but will fall under the guidance department and work with the Director of Guidance to ensure program articulation and best practices. Due to the nature of this position, the EL CCELO Coordinator will have a flexible schedule. Primary Duties and Assignments 1. Establish and maintain cooperative, constructive and genuine relationships with students and faculty2.
Establish and maintain a rigorous, relevant and personalized ELO program that fosters student research, reflection, product and presentations. 3. Serve as a liaison between school administrators, faculty, students and ELO partners to optimize student learning opportunities and experiences. 4.
Promote and encourage student and community participation in ELOs. Utilize a wide range of media to promote the ELO program. 5. Gather and analyze data around the programs progress in meeting student needs and makes adjustments.
6. Insure all aspects of program meet state laws and school safety policies. 7. Design a school-wide plan for raising college aspiration and matriculation in 2-year, 4year colleges and certificate programs.
Coordinate efforts with guidance, faculty, and administration. 8. Provide on-going parents outreach and information regarding the process for college admissions, impact of college degree on long-term earning potential and future development. 9.
Maintain administrative records; prepares reports and correspondence. 10. Disseminate professional information and materials to faculty. 11.
Show flexibility and willingness to carry out other responsibilities as determined by the principal.
