Overview
Responsible for installation, calibration, operation, maintenance trouble shooting, and repair of various instrumentation devices within the operation. Also Responsible for installation, operation, maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of various electrical equipment and devices within the operation using available instructions, manuals and schematic diagrams.
Responsibilities
Operation of valves, controllers, transmitters, positioners, PLC's, pneumatic, electronic and hydraulic lines.
Operation and troubleshooting of motors, motor starters, motor controllers, inverters, electrical switchgear, lighting and all electrical circuits from DC up to and including 4160V.
Perform and document workplace and mobile equipment inspections.
Identify operational problems and causes of breakdowns, and make repairs to same.
Identify operational and equipment inefficiencies.
General knowledge and application of company safety rules with an emphasis on lock
out/tag out procedures, working with energized electrical equipment, risk awareness, moving
conveyors, confined space procedure and use of PPE.
Perform basic calibration of instruments on process and utility equipment.
Basic troubleshooting and repair of process controllers, plant equipment, and laboratory instruments.
Configure and repair microprocessor-based instruments and controllers utilizing available instructions and manuals.
Assist team with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for equipment.
Ensure that calibration paperwork, instrument files, electrical files, E&I drawings, and work order documentation is complete with accurate information.
Participate in detailed training program in order to develop one’s knowledge in the instrumentation and electrical field, and other areas of the plant as needed.
Position Requirements:
The ability to pass an aptitude test in industrial Electrical/Instrumentation functions and
complete a training program.
Basic troubleshooting and evaluation experience, ability to program and setup of electrical process and utility equipment.
Ability to read and create electrical schematic diagram
Reading and math skills, effective communication skills
Must have the ability to independently solve problems, and work with minimal supervision, minimizing interruption in production.
Basic computer skills with operating knowledge of Microsoft software, Xsite – write purchase requisitions, work orders, look up purchase orders, requisitions and work orders, and look up parts in storeroom, and train and use other software within the company as needed.
Available to work overtime as needed.
