We are currently seeking an Electrician to join our Team in the Tallahassee, FL area.
Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for the successful installation of solar electrical equipment for photovoltaic systems. The electrician will have knowledge of different solar electrical tie-ins, how to install equipment according to NEC code, and how to wire the AC portions of a system. The electrician will be responsible for reading and fully understanding design drawings.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
Identify solutions to resolve technical design problems, including electrical systems used during construction
Provide training to wiring technicians
All workmanship compliant with current NEC and local codes.
Provide on-site troubleshooting for solar systems and resolve electrical issues
Perform supply side interconnections, MSP upgrades, running conduit, load shifting, trenching.
Meet with and develop relationships with inspectors.
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years electrical experience
A Journeyman Electrical License / State Certified Electrician, preferred
3+ years in the solar electric industry, preferred
Formal apprenticeship and/or vocational training
Must possess a current, valid Driver's license
Working knowledge of the NEC required
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), preferred
Proficiency in MS Office
Very strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Able to work an adjusting schedule and respond to emergencies
Projects a professional appearance
Solar industry experience preferred
Experience reading, interpreting one-line drawings and electrical schematics
Applicants should be in good physical shape with no lifting restrictions, comfortable using hand tools, power tools, using ladders and working on roofs and have reliable transportation to and from work.
Working Conditions
The Electrician works outside with main duties performed on roofs and ladders in hot and cold weather conditions. Additionally, work is also performed inside in crawl spaces and attics. In both environments, there will be repeated and extended periods of standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing, pulling/pushing more than 50 lbs., squatting, and reaching above the shoulders.
