POSITION TITLE: NJPCA – Emergency Management Program Associate

REPORTS TO: President and CEO

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required in a related field. Minimum 2-3 years of work experience at a non-profit organization or a for-profit setting. Must be able to travel to and attend off-site meetings.

SKILLS: Exceptional writing skills in varied formats and lengths; excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities. Must be able to interact effectively with a diverse population of clients, funders, employees, employers, government representatives, and others. Strong research/information-gathering, analytical, and general office skills. Completion of and/or willingness to take online FEMA Courses: IS-100: Intro to Incident Command System (ICS); IS- 200: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations; and IS-700.B: Intro to National Incident Management System.

High-level Microsoft Office skills are essential, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access Database.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Work independently to prioritize tasks and complete projects with inflexible deadlines
  • Working knowledge of the CMS Emergency Preparedness Final Rule and the Joint Commission requirements for Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Assist with weekly Emergency Management memos for the NJPCA Emergency Management Network and other NJPCA Emergency Management-related activities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of emergency management plans
  • Keep informed of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that emergency plans adhere to these regulations
  • Willingness to attend trainings to further enhance emergency preparedness education including but not limited to the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP)
  • Provide input on the development of After Action Reports (AAR) and Improvement Plans (IP)
  • Assist with data collection when related to emergency management and/or public health-related matters
  • Ensure emergency preparedness information is up-to-date on NJPCA webpages
  • Assist with writing grant reports and proposals to government funding sources
  • Schedule and prepare for peer group meetings
  • Attend state and federal meetings to establish and maintain working partnerships with other healthcare entities
  • Assist with planning and management of training events
  • Maintain emergency management network listservs
  • Perform other duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 per year
