Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Efficiency Engineer to join our growing team! As an engineer with Resource Innovations, you will be responsible for providing technical support services for the research, planning and analytics group within Resource Innovations’ Utility Services business unit, and will work on energy efficiency program planning, delivery and evaluation with a focus on engineering and analysis support.

As an Energy Efficiency Engineer, you will contribute through performing energy engineering services for utility and end-use clients, performing energy efficiency calculations, conducting site visits and audits (ASHRAE I, II), installing field monitoring equipment, and other related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities


The following is a representative description of the position’s role and responsibilities. Reflecting the flexible nature of our work, Resource Innovations will adjust this description as necessary to meet operating and strategic needs of its business:

  • Junior engineering and analysis support: field work, data collection, energy analyses, project research, etc.
  • Conduct primary and secondary data collection efforts as well as data analysis.
  • Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) activities for installed energy efficiency measures.
  • Support impact evaluations and cost-effectiveness analyses for energy efficiency programs.
  • Assist with the development of data collection instruments.
  • Support and assist with input for technical report writings; contribute to draft reports, including results and actionable recommendations.
  • Support senior staff with development of presentations, papers and proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. engineering, environmental science with a focus on energy efficiency / energy management).
  • An understanding of building systems, energy end uses and equipment, thermodynamics, and heat transfer, specific in commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Previous experience in an energy-related field, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills are mandatory.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Energy assessments, analysis of energy data, and/or Measurement and Verification experience is desirable.
  • Experience in energy modeling is a plus.
  • Experience preparing draft reports detailing analytical findings.

Benefits

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on candidate's qualifications. Resource Innovations also offers three weeks paid vacation per year, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with employee matching funds, a discretionary bonus and an overall comprehensive benefits package. The compensation range for this Exempt position is $60,000-$125,000 per year. The stated range is based on a good faith estimate of the compensation range for the duties, responsibilities and skills / experience required for the position. Starting pay will be dependent on experience and internal equity. Compensation may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, especially with industry experience.
