ENGAGEMENT & EVENT SPECIALIST POSITION DESCRIPTION
Engagement and Event Specialist serves as the face of KWKC’s young adult community and is focused on building relationships, fostering community, creating engagement both in person and online, and overseeing project management for KWKC events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Young Adult Journey Support: Head up the young adult community and serve as the point of contact for all young adults participating or interested in KWKC programming.

  • Develop relationships with young adult participants to help foster a community of advocates
  • Lead monthly coaching cohort sessions via Zoom and oversee communications
  • Identify potential participant success stories and relay them to the marketing team
  • Advise coaching and scholarship applicants to help them improve the quality of their application
  • Liaise with the marketing team to facilitate text/email reminders to program participants regarding event surveys and coaching and scholarship deadlines

Events: Serve as the project manager for all virtual and in-person events (with the exception of fundraisers), including KWKC hosted events, KWRI events, board meetings, and instructor recruiting and training events.

  • Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure all event related activities are on schedule and within budget
  • Book presenters, secure venues, facilitate travel arrangements, order supplies, etc.
  • Manage event setup and tear down for in-person events and Zoom setup and oversight for virtual events
  • Manage event calendar

Social Media Engagement: Leverage social media to promote KWKC programming and create community among young adult participants.

  • Create content for the young adult FB community
  • In collaboration with Marketing Manager, explore social media marketing and/or groups on social channels not currently being leveraged
  • Manage and respond to inquiries in the young adult FB community
  • Share relevant posts on the FB pages of KWRI, KWYP, KWU, DEI groups, and other KWKC partners

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Thrives on building relationships, communicating, and creating engagement with diverse groups
  • 2+ years event planning or related experience
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget

Preferred Qualifications:

  • On a personal growth journey that aligns with Quantum Leap
  • Experience managing a professional community on social media
  • Experience engaging and building a community or group
  • Social media marketing experience
