Engineer – Package Software (McLeod Software)

Position Purpose:
The Engineer – Package Software (focusing on the McLeod Software application) will be responsible for providing IT support and solutions for GPC’s fully-owned and operated Rayloc Manufacturing and Distribution Services (RMDS). Some responsibilities include guidance and support of integrated hardware, and interfaces with both internal and external systems.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Assume overall responsibility for software and related hardware needs to support the business
- Ability to analyze software related issues and propose solutions
- Troubleshoot software and identify root causes of software problems
- Accept IT related requests from customers and aid in completing the request or assigning to the correct teams
- Work with the business to create and modify reports, both operational and financial
- Manage incidents the change management process (ServiceNow)
- Triage requests for custom programming items and coordinate with internal and external team members
- Other duties as assigned
Location:
- GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office
- We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work remotely
Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
- Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred (LTL, Truckload, Drayage or similar)
- Experience working with McLeod Software or similar product is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with other technology teams, both internal and external
- Experience working with Windows servers
- Microsoft SQL Server and ability to write simple queries
- Ability to travel on occasion (approximately 5 – 15%)
Standard Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally allowed to work in the United States
Education Required
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job

- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is a frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles
