Job description

Position:
As a Laser Process Engineer, who will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing several facets of process design, and continuous improvements as it relates to laser cutting, marking and welding, in our Berlin, CT location.

Key Goals:
Achieve the System development performance goals for efficiency, cost savings and continuous improvement, Working with the NPD, continuous improvement and project management teams to successfully execute and launch new programs/strategies/systems.

• Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results/variances (productivity, quality, customer service); initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
• Creates’ plan(s) that allow the monitoring and understanding of success post implementation.
• Assist with new program launches, particularly with the development and execution of protocols, work process instructions, and any additional technical documents
• Resolve production issues as they are assigned

Key Skills:

• Knowledge of Laser Processing is required
• Knowledge of programming logic
• Knowledge of the PPAP Process preferred
• Experience with PFMEA
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing
• Experience in Medical device is preferred
• Experience with automation machine function preferred
• Experience conducting designed experiments
• Some knowledge of tooling fundamentals

Education Experience:

• BSME or equivalent work experience
