Job Description

In this role you will manage a team of mechanical engineers, software engineers, perception researchers, and others at Magic Leap to help deliver high quality, scalable data for perception products.

You will build next generation data collection tools with access to top notch labs such as machine shops, robot labs, motion capture labs, and a range of 3D scanners.

Responsibilities

• Work side by side with our Perception engineers to define data collection needs and tools
• Mentor and motivate team of engineering talent
• Work with the latest solutions in AR and participate in development cycle discussions and milestones.
• Provide future direction for data tooling for deep learning, and perception validation.
• Oversee life cycle of data for data collection tools leading to product launch
• Help define requirements for productization of ML solutions

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience working on Computer Vision and Perception
• Deep understanding of Camera and 3D vision fundamentals
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated record of leading a team of engineers to success
• Hands on experience with lab equipment, data collection equipment for perception.
• Experience building automated solutions
• Knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Bonus Points

• Experience developing projects with Robotics and Cloud
• Experience managing large data and post-processing in the cloud.
• Experience working with LIDAR, Motion capture, 3D scanners, volumetrics capture.

Education

• MS in any Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
