Job description

Responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and general labor functions, machine operations and forklift operations throughout the Production/Entrée Departments as staffing needs dictate

• Stacks boxes of product on pallets and shrink wraps for storage.

• Assists the cook with various projects while the product is being made.

• Operates a forklift and/or pallet jack.

• Inspects finished product for quality and proper labeling.

• Packs finished product into boxes or totes, inspects pallets, boxes, and totes for defective units not to be used, places poly liners in totes, assures proper weights, stacks and shrink wraps for storage as needed.

• Learns and assists to operate various types of equipment and machinery to include but not limited to: Cryovac, peelers, cutters, blanchers, and product sorters.

• Learns the line flow and sets up for production.

• Learns how to start and stop lines and associated equipment as required by Production needs.

• Cleans machinery and work areas as required.

• Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.

• Reports any equipment problems and/or safety issues to Supervisor and/or Lead immediately.

• Performs various checks and completes paperwork throughout the shift ensuring accuracy and clearly legible handwriting.

• Adheres to common safety practices and procedures, including the wearing of proper PPE’s as required.

• Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Lead
