The New York State Unified Court System, the judicial branch of the state government, is one of the largest and busiest court systems in the world. The Division of Human Resources provides support services and consultation to judges, court administrators, court personnel, and the public. Under the direction of the Exam Administration Manager, the Exam Administration Coordinator (Principal Court Analyst) will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating and administering Civil Service exams. This position will oversee the administration of a range of standardized testing activities including development and coordination of testing program policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Assists with overseeing day-to-day tasks of exam administration and processing, including assisting with supervision of the unit.
· Drafts exam announcements, exam FAQs and letters.
· Assists with developing and maintaining online application platform for test takers.
· Liaison with testing vendors to execute electronic delivery of examinations statewide.
· Acquires and maintains testing equipment such as laptops and digital recorders.
· Schedules open-filing period, seating capacity planning, test dates, pre-rating reviews in accordance with court policies.
· Administers and supervises exams, recruits and supervises proctors, and acquires testing venues.
· Processes vouchers to pay raters, reconciles invoices, manages charge backs, and assists with annual budget for the unit.
· Verifies medical documentation submitted by applicants.
· Manages process for assigning veteran and seniority credits.
· Reviews reasonable accommodation requests.
· Keeps informed of advancing technology in standardized test administration, computer-based testing, machine scoring, and associated software.
· Ensures confidentiality and maintains security of testing materials.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
· Participate in various programs and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience.
Experience with test administration, educational testing, project management, computer-based testing, knowledge of NYS Civil Service Rules, and union experience is a plus
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with government bid process and contracts is preferred.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Salary:
$74,478 Annually
Location Pay: $4,300
