EXEC PASTRY CHEF INDEED POST

We are looking for an experienced Executive Pastry Chef for Rye Restaurants to lead our pastry team and oversee the pastry & dessert program at our restaurants. The ideal candidate will be an organized, production focused and creative pastry chef with a passion for producing high-quality pastries & desserts.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing established core pastry and dessert menu for Rye Restaurants. Additionally, developing seasonal and thematic recipes that complement the overall food concept and satisfy customer preferences
  • Lead and supervise the pastry team, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and working efficiently to meet production goals
  • Manage inventory, ensuring that ingredients and supplies are stocked in a timely manner, and manage budgets and costs
  • Maintain high food quality and hygiene standards, ensuring that all food produced by the pastry team meets the high standards set by the restaurant and adheres to strict hygiene and food safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as the front-of-house team and chefs, to ensure that the overall dining experience is exceptional for guests
  • Manage budgets and finances for the pastry department, including labor costs, inventory expenses, and other overhead costs
  • Establish relationships with vendors to ensure the highest quality ingredients are procured and to negotiate pricing to meet budgetary goals
  • Participate in marketing activities to promote the restaurant and its offerings, including media appearances, social media, and public relations events.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a pastry chef, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • A strong background in pastry production and knowledge of pastry techniques and trends
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and vendors
  • A passion for producing high-quality desserts and an ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage inventory and finances effectively.

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
