SUMMARY:
The Executive Risk & Cyber Broker is responsible for the management and placement of Management Liability, Cyber Liability, and Professional Liability policies on behalf of prospective and existing clients in conjunction with the Property & Casualty service team. The Executive Risk & Cyber Broker is an internal resource focused on technical placement and management of these lines of insurance. This role will work closely with the P&C service teams to ensure the proper placement and delivery of these insurance products. Performance of duties will be conducted in accordance with Plexus’s organizational objectives, quality standards, and management goals. The Executive Risk & Cyber Broker will report to the P&C Practice Leader.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the placement (marketing) and management of Director’s and Officer’s Liability (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability (FID), Crime, Kidnap and Ransom (K&R), Privacy and Network Security Liability (Cyber), various Miscellaneous Professional Liability(MPL) insurance products, and more
- Work closely with the P&C service teams to ensure the proper placement of the above policies for Plexus clients
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with insurance carriers, various intermediaries, and other industry leaders to stay ahead of industry trends. This includes meeting with underwriters when they visit the office
- Possess a complete understanding of each market’s abilities, underwriting appetite, and services provided by each party
- Be intimately familiar with constructing Management Liability, Cyber Liability, and Professional Liability insurance programs for clients and prospective clients
- Review contracts, agreements, and other applicable documents to provide feedback to the service teams to address client insurance-related matters
- Responsible for analysis of client litigation history, addressing how it affects the insurance program, providing loss trending support where applicable, and advising on findings to the service teams
- Order applicable underwriting reports as needed
- Complete online rating if necessary
- Oversee the preparation of the service team submissions to include applications and various supporting documents
- Document required underwriting information in the agency management system
- Help educate and develop P&C team members’ knowledge of these policies
- Assist in client deliverables as it relates to these coverages, including but not limited to, insurance reviews, proposal support, and benchmarking reports
- In conjunction with the P&C practice leader, help develop and establish processes and procedures to work with the service teams on the above items
- Attend agency meetings, as well as internal and external training as required
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or applicable experience is required
- Preferred 7-10 years of insurance brokerage/property & casualty, client management, and/or carrier relationship management experience
- State Property & Casualty license is required; industry professional designations are a plus
- Holds established market relationships and has maintained a positive, visible presence in the insurance industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately
- A positive consultative and resourceful approach to interacting with prospects, existing clients, and internal associates
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving experience
- Collaborative style is driven to support a fast-paced growth organization and capable of championing the overall corporate vision
- Experience developing relationships with associates at all levels of the organization, as well as externally
- Must be able to participate in all methods of travel
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to perform primarily sedentary work, frequently using a computer (visual acuity, fine motor skills) and telephone (talking/hearing)
- Read, write, and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Handle the physical demands of travel
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a full-time position.
- The associate must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
- Days of work are Monday through Friday, and standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
