Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties:
Responsible for office management functions (i.e. office equipment use and troubleshooting, office supply inventory and management, student services, communications, document and form preparation, establishing and maintaining complex filing systems, processing adjunct, contingent, overload, additional assignment paperwork, and temp labor EPS and event planning). Serve as resource person to accurately disseminate information to faculty, staff, students and various outside agencies. Facilitate new hire student employee on-boarding, training and payroll management. Manage the Mac lab and the audio/video labs. Work with the department head to manage the departmental budgets, process budget forms, and contracting as needed for Communication & Media Studies (CAMS) and WUPX.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:
High School Graduation or Equivalent

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Familiarity with office software and applications is required for the position.

Required Minimum Work Experience:
Five years' progressive office work experience involving financial management, department support, independent document preparation and/or creation and customer service OR a Bachelor's Degree.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Ability to accurately and efficiently operate department equipment to include any combination or word processing, spreadsheet, email, database, desktop publishing, presentation or web-based applications.
Competent multi-tasking and time management skills. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures (budgeting support).
Ability to proficiently communicate both orally and in writing and possess active listening skills.
Ability to competently handle materials of a confidential or sensitive nature.
Ability to provide input regarding improvements in departmental policies, practices and recommendations for budget cost controls.
Ability to manage student performance.
Ability to familiarize self with the CAMS curricula.
Ability to multi-task.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of University policies and procedures in order to make independent decisions related to the office environment.
Familiarity with University computer programs and software.
