Landmark has a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and self-motivated Director of Events who can lead the team at The View, Jersey City, NJ.

As Director of Events you will be part of Landmark’s Leadership Team and have the opportunity to be involved with every phase of an event. You will be responsible with clients from their initial appointment to follow through, menu development, contract and successful event execution. During the process you will develop strong, positive relationships with clients. At the same time, you will be leading a team to assist with sales so nurturing and guiding them throughout the sales process as well as constantly motivating on sales techniques will be expected.

Our successful candidate is entrepreneurial and able to work independently, think on their feet and problem solve with a calm personality. The ability to grow corporate business and retreats as well weddings and other social events is expected.

Qualifications:

· At least 5 years of progressive experience in luxury event planning and production. Specifically with a strong background in up-scale weddings,

· Solid understanding of the Tri-State area event market

· Excellent communication, organization and guest relation skills

· A solid sales technique for closing sales and teaching the team on-going sales techniques

· An eye for detail regarding event set-up, grounds, rooms, etc. The ability to “set the stage” which promotes our luxury brand

· Able to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends

Key Responsibilities:

· Meet with prospective clients and establish a relationship

· Proactively seek out corporate events and retreat opportunities

· Work closely with Executive Chef on exciting menu offerings

· Monitor sales goals of the team, coach and assist on an on-going basis

· Generate and monitor client contractual requirements

· Develop and nurture client relationships in an effort to enhance CRM

· Responsible for keeping up to date on new trends in events

· Follow all Landmark SOP’s

· Be committed to providing a “Landmark Experience” to each and every guest

· Hire, train and orchestrate the team both during planning and event execution

· Work closely with facility manager and houseman on any/all necessary repairs or maintenance issues
