Academy of the Sacred Heart has multiple openings for enthusiastic and driven Extended Day Staff members for the 2022-2023 school year! Our program provides a safe and nurturing space for children PreK - Grade 8 to gather after school and engage in a variety of activities. Extended Day staff members are responsible for coordinating group activities, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring the safety and well-being of each child.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Care for and foster relationships with children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8
- Usher students to their scheduled afternoon activities and music lessons
- Plan and lead activities in small groups
- Provide a safe environment for students including understanding of dietary restrictions and allergen information
- Execute accurate daily sign in and sign out procedures
- Follow safety and emergency protocols
A clear commitment to the educational philosophy of Sacred Heart Schools is essential.
Basic requirements include but are not limited to:
- Must be 18 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare, camp or similar setting
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor
- Work effectively both as a team member and individual to meet the needs of each student
- Enthusiasm for working with children and participating in the Sacred Heart community in a dynamic and engaging manner
- CPR Certification (will help to secure training)
- Punctuality and dependability
- Availability to work 2:45 p.m. - 6 p.m. three to five days per week
