HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer for our manufacturing plant in Pompano Beach, FL. HCA, part of the global HOERGIBER Compression Technology Group, is a dynamic manufacturer of OEM precision compressor valves and components.
The role of the Facilities Engineer is to support the business by maintaining, improving the existing buildings and systems, and building new systems or building parts or replacing systems that are at the end of their lifetime. The Facilities Engineer works closely with the Maintenance team to define what they can do as part of their capabilities/capacities versus outsourcing. The Facilities Engineer will work on proposals for leadership and if approved he/she will be fully responsible for project implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage buildings (135K+ sf) - including roofs, sewers, walls, lighting, air conditioning, finishes, floors, electrical power, compressed air, data infrastructure and water
- Analyze the business needs and then research multiple solutions that could provide a solution
- Research and discuss engineering, insurance and regulatory requirements with local authorities, engineering firms, contractors to make sure that business is protected from legal, environmental, and business risks
- Compare the solutions based on functionality, risks and cost to allow leadership to make educated decisions
- Manage projects from the design to the installation/fabrication/build
- Work with contractors on scope of work/contracts
- Work with contractors on the design
- Manage payments/purchase orders to contractors
- Manage spending/budget
- Manage work in the facilities (ensure safety rules are followed, ensure good workmanship, ensure functionality, manage relationship with contractors and permitting requirements
- Manage contractors for standard work on the facilities buildings and grounds - Manage contract scope of work, Manage execution of work, Coordinate service calls if necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Maintenance, construction, and management of industrial facilities
- Experience managing/working on electrical and mechanical systems (3 Phase Electrical power, Air conditioning, Alarm systems)
- Experience with leading projects that require permitting
- Experience with designing systems, collaborating with architects, general contractors, engineers
- Experience managing contractors
- Ability to read blueprints for mechanical and electrical designs
- Ability to read factory floor plan and coordinate work for a team (internal or external resources) based on a drawing
- Ability and experience to troubleshoot complex system problems based on input from operators, technical manuals and alarm codes
- Ability to manage purchases in an ERP system
- Ability to use Excel to collect and manipulate data to show trends, ROI
- Ability to create and manage a budget
