Facilities Sr. Technician

Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Sr. Facilities Technician, who is responsible for the safe and ongoing maintenance and repair of our Metro Detroit buildings and equipment. This role is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the facilities to ensure the facilities are in compliance, safe, and utilized to the maximum production of quantity and quality while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. This role will execute continuous improvements, efficiencies, and safety efforts to be an integral member of the SHE and 5S programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist Support Services Manager with developing the facilities services strategy to optimize the operational effectiveness of multiple sites and service provided to the organization
- Manage maintenance program based on best practices and manufacturer recommendations, with an emphasis on production planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring automated CAFM systems are implemented, utilized, monitored, and provide an easy access single source repository for all FM related matters
- Provide direction and knowledge expertise to the team on all aspects of effective Facilities Management. Principally motivation and development of the Facilities team through leading by example is key, agreeing clear objectives and consistently monitoring performance to achieve delivery of excellent services
- To take lead responsibility for planning and coordinating equipment installations, refurbishments, and upkeep of equipment
- To take lead responsibility for the maintenance and general upkeep of the managed sites as well as fulfilling legal obligations within leased premises. Facility components include but are not limited to the roof, plumbing, HVAC, security systems, electrical, etc. (Please note that this does not include IT infrastructure.)
- Responsible for the management of waste disposal (hazardous and non-hazardous) as well as recycling materials
- Support environmental health and safety programs in programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee the procurement and contract management of Facilities’ services and goods and implementation of procedures in accordance with value for money principles, considerate of environmental sustainability and support our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion within managed offices
- To create and enhance effective working relationships both internally and with external organizations to capture innovative thinking, to develop and promote best working practices to deliver offices that are an inspirational place to work
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Facilities Management or related discipline Experience working at a mid-large size manufacturing facility with project management experience
- Electrical, mechanical and refrigeration knowledge is preferred
- Mechanical / refrigeration experience is a plus
- Multiple site management. Ability to travel locally between all offices and interact at all levels across the company
- Knowledgeable in Safety and 5S is a plus
