Job description
Under the direction of the Center for the Arts Manager and Creekside Community Center Manager this position is responsible for the set-up, take-down, and monitoring of Center for the Arts and/or Creekside Community Center activities to ensure safety and customer satisfaction.
- Work with public providing customer service and information about facility activities.
- Document evening activities on opening/closing procedures check list and walking log.
- Open and close the building according to guidelines.
- Set-up meeting rooms with tables and/or chairs, etc. for evening and weekend meetings/activities. Rearrange rooms to standard layout at the end of the meeting/activity.
- Set-up event area with appropriate furniture, equipment and supplies, i.e. staging, seating risers, chairs, tables, etc. Rearrange to standard layout at end of event.
- Assist resident and guest groups with equipment, room set-up, stage set-up, basic troubleshooting and questions regarding facility functions and policies.
- Monitor facility while building is open: check hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, theaters, and meeting rooms.
- Notify the appropriate city staff regarding facility maintenance and repair needs.
- Inform the Center for the Arts Manager and Creekside Community Center Manager of questions and/or suggestions regarding facility operations.
- Enforce policies outlined in Operational Guidelines.
- Respond to emergency situations i.e. severe weather, illness, accident/injury, etc.
- Provide relevant information to walk-in community members as needed.
- Light custodial work, may include emptying trash receptacles, tidying restrooms and spot sweeping/vacuuming.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Willingness to carry out event related logistics as needed for a successful event
- Ability to act in a professional manner at all times
- Capable of moving and setting up seating risers, orchestra shell, large banquet tables, racks of chairs etc, weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to make decisions and work independently and without direct supervision
- Ability to supervise facility users and visitors effectively
- Must be available to work weekday evenings, 4:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. and weekends
- Experience working in various capacities for special events and performing arts activities
- CPR and related certification
- High School Diploma
- One or more years working with or participating in cultural arts or performing arts events in various capacities
This position works approximately 5-15 hours/week.

Ongoing Part-Time employees who are employed for more than 6 months will make contributions to the pension program (PERA) through payroll deductions unless they qualify for one of the exemptions. In addition, Part-Time may receive Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook and eligable for paid parental leave after 6 months of employment.
