Raytheon Intelligence and Space’s CIS Field Engineering team is looking for a Field Support Engineer to join our team. In this role you will support the Secure Communications (SecComms) business area specifically supporting the Command and Control Switching System (CCSS) program in multiple roles.

The CCSS program provides support to Department of Defense (DoD) secure telephone switching system that is part of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN). CCSS also provides support to the E-4B program a key component of the National Military Command System for the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

This role also includes part time work with the CCSS Help Desk team while supporting to the Depot Service team responsible for product testing and evaluation as well as fulfilling software requests from internal and external customers. In addition, you will travel with a team or individually to perform system installation and activations both large and small at customer location around the world.

Position Location - Largo, Florida.

  • Up to 70% travel to off-site locations for field installation, integration and testing as needed.
  • Current or ability to obtain a US Passport.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on and off-site system support services worldwide.
  • Perform services related to operation, repair, maintenance, installation, logistics support, integration, and upgrades of customer equipment.
  • Perform analysis, debugging, and assist development of corrective actions to system problems.
  • Interface with technical subject-matter experienced professionals, use defined processes and techniques to accurately assess system performance.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, customer briefings, and technical presentations.

Experience and Skills:

  • Progressive experience installing, grounding, bonding electronic equipment, and enclosures.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and executing statements of work, drawing packages, wiring diagrams, floor plans, technical documentation, directives, and standards.
  • Philosophy of operations of common communications systems and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Understand and practice Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards.
  • Trained in electronics, low voltage, and common input.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously or with a group to complete assignments.
  • Comfortable navigating rapidly changing environments and tasking while maintaining high tempo.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (i.e., Excel).

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Technical certifications.
  • Experience with digital switching systems and product lines.
  • Experience planning and accomplishing local customer site installation of electrical equipment.
  • Experience with installation of common, intricate, and complex copper wire and fiber-optic cables.
  • Familiar with government voice, dedicated, and bulk encryption devices.
  • Familiar with the operation and installation of Internet Protocol (IP) switches and routers.
  • Familiar with long haul circuit action to include IP and Frame relay type connections.
  • Understand the applications of circuit functionality and design in the DRSN.
  • Understand Emissions Security (EMSEC) standards related to RED/Black installations.
  • Proficient with cable producing equipment and specialty resources.

U.S. Citizenship required, as the applicant must have an Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, day one of employment, with the ability to obtain Top Secret w/SCI.

Education:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Relocation assistance is not available.
