Overview:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing research, consolidating data, preparing worksheets, conducting calculations and explaining data results to support development of the organization’s financial analysis activities such as budget variance analysis, capital budgeting, product profitability analysis, forecasts, identifying trends, cash management and investment strategy. This is a full-time position located at SRI's corporate office in McLean, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains documented records supporting financial forecasts used in the rate and budget area.
• Collects and analyzes financial data received from various managers for inclusion in indirect and forward pricing rate package submissions.
• Respond to rate and budget questions and provide explanations to ensure management understanding.
• Ensures compliance with internal procedures and DAR/FAR government regulations. May interface with government auditors and provide audit support to ensure government understanding of financial data, methodology and applicability under appropriate government regulations.
• Develops ad hoc and special reports summarizing project status/results, presentations to functional management and recommendations impacting business decisions.
• Participates in business case development and analysis for organization or functional business areas.

Minimum Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 3 years of experience in a similar role in a government contracting environment
• Ability to specific professional-level functional knowledge to solve problems requiring the identification and analysis of moderately complex variables.
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Strong excel skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to synthesize a large volume of complex data into readable formats
• Strong communication skills
