The East Bay Consortium NP Residency Program is still accepting applications for (2) native and fluent Spanish-speaking candidates and candidates of color to apply for our 2022-23 cohort beginning this late September. Below are some program highlights to share:
Our program is a 12-month intensive training program for new NPs who have recently completed their Master or Doctorate in Nursing within the last 18 months; our program consists of primary care clinics with dedicated preceptors, specialty rotations, weekly didactic training, and curriculum focusing on community health issues through a health equity lens and DEI and anti-oppression framework, and QI projects

Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccine Policy:

Unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved, all employees must receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
Responsibilities:
A complete application to our program includes the following materials:
- Resume and include clinic rotation locations and hours and language proficiencies.
- Unofficial MSN or DNP transcripts (Up until current date. Proof of graduation not necessary to apply.)
- Three letters of recommendation (one academic, one professional, and one of your choice.)
- Personal statement (approx. two pages) that integrates and answers the following questions:
- What motivates you to work as a primary care NP in a safety net setting?
- If personal experiences have contributed to your career choice, please speak to this.
- How do racism and other forms of oppression show up in health care systems and settings, and what is your role as an NP in undermining and dismantling oppression, particularly anti-Black racism?
- This rigorous full-time program requires study and prep time outside of work hours.
- How do you practice self-care?
- Please describe your cultural and linguistic proficiency in Spanish. If not yet fluent, explain the plan you may have to improve your Spanish language abilities.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following qualifications to become eligible to apply:
- Completed MSN or DNP program within the last 18 months
- California state RN & NP license by start of the program
- Family Nurse Practitioner certified by an accredited agency by the start of the program
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a safety-net setting
