FSW’s Head Start/Early Head Start is a federal government program that was created in 1965 to give preschool children from low-income families a “head start” on their readiness for elementary school.
Job Details:
Family Services of Westchester is looking for full-time Food Aide for our
Yonkers, NY Head Start program. We are hiring for multiple locations throughout Westchester County.
POSITION TITLE: Food Aide
STATUS: Full time/ Permanent
SUPERVISED BY: Carmen Guzman
PURPOSE: Assist in the preparation of food; prepare assigned food serving area and perform cashiering duties in the sale of food items to students and staff; maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Ensure health and safety guidelines for children.
- Prepare food and deliver to classrooms
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area
- Audit and place order for supplies needed in a timely manner to avoid running out of items needed
- Record foods temperature
- Cover lunch breaks
- Fulfill specific dietary requirements
- Follow CACFP Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have active ServSafe certification, Must have a High School diploma
