Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst assists the ChemPharma/Energy FP&A Director in the consolidation, review and analysis of group financial performance versus plan/forecast/prior year. He/She assists in the preparation of the annual operating plan and various forecasts. He/She will also become the main point of contact for users throughout the group with HFM-related issues, and administer the Finance Sharepoint folder. He/She will work with the global finance team to continually improve the group’s forecasting processes.

At Crane Corporation, Finance is integrated into the business and their role is both collaborative and advisory. They provide business-driven perspectives on performance, strategy, internal control issues and operation models. Finally, Finance must be an agent for change, collaborating on Crane Business System initiatives throughout their region. The position reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, CPE.


Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

  • The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of the annual operating plan, monthly outlook, quarterly forecasts, and weekly pulses (“mini forecast” of month and quarter
  • The Financial Analyst will perform variance analysis of actual results compared to plan/forecast/prior year for Income Statement and Cash Flow, and provide a concise, meaningful summary of the results to senior leaders.
  • The Financial Analyst will provide analysis of price/volume/mix of sales and related cost of sales for the group, along with other monthly reports for the group’s management.
  • The Financial Analyst will become the HFM (financial consolidation software) expert for the group and assist users with HFM related issues.
  • The Financial Analyst will administer the group’s Finance SharePoint folder.
  • The Financial Analyst will understand current key forecasting processes/procedures in place within the various facilities and use Crane Business System tools to drive increased accuracy across business processes.
  • The Financial Analyst will review Capital Expenditure Requests (CER), Expense Requests (ER), as well as CER Post Audits, as required.
  • In addition, this position will assume other special activities and responsibilities as required.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited 4-year university
· 1-2 Years of experience as a FP&A
· To be well versed in methods to analyze/interpret financial statements and accounting principles
· Problem solving and root-cause analysis skills.
· Proficient in the use of Word and Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
· Self-starter with desire to foster a sense of urgency when addressing business concerns

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Working knowledge of US GAAP and current accounting practices
Finance experience across a group of complex businesses is a plus
