Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Thrift Center East (Feasterville)

Reports To: Logistics & Production Manager (LPM)/ Assistant Production Manager (APM)

Job Summary

Material Handler/Truck Assistant is a dual role within Thrift Center East. This role splits its responsibilities between the Trucking department and the Thrift Center (Production) as directed by the Logistics & Production Manager. These responsibilities range from baling clothing, storing off season product, and assisting in the production room to assisting on a truck doing pickups or other tasks within the trucking department.

Duties

Material Handler

Operating the baler, forklift, and pallet jack and maintaining equipment and appropriate paperwork.

Ensures that recycle trailer is filled properly and keeps the LPM up to date on trailer status for shipment

Assist in maximizing the flow of the Thrift Center by ensuring that production team has product to work with at all times, recycle gaylords are cleared and replaced from stations as needed, boxed product are put away properly and trash is taken out

Maintains all off season product storage property and any current season product inventory is reported to APM

Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Truck Assistant

Assist the Truck driver by making phone calls to next pickup and checking in with the truck management team, being a second set of eyes on the road, and guiding the driver when he is backing up (must be outside the truck)

Assesses furniture with the Truck Driver in order to uphold Liberty Ministries Thrift standards, lifting furniture, and stacking the truck to maximize space Ensures that all Daily paperwork is filled out properly and sent to the Assistant Logistics Manager

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Have attention to detail and organization

Have good communication

Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, pull, etc. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

Be of good physical and mental health with emotional maturity and a sense of humor

Needs to be an efficient multi - tasker

High ethical ability for following the policies and procedures of Liberty Ministries Thrift

Must be able to take direction well yet be able to work independently while remaining motivated and productive

High School diploma or equivalent required
