Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, the Fundraising and Development Associate is responsible for the planning and execution of Harcs fundraising events, assisting with implementation of the organizations major donor moves management program, and the collection of organizational beneficiary stories, as well as the marketing of the organization through its website and social media channels.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Events and Fundraising:

  • In collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy, plans and assumes primary responsibility for the execution of organizational fundraising events including, but not limited to, the Walk N Roll, Auction, and others.
  • Plans and implements efforts to recruit event participants.
  • Coordinates, trains, supports, and manages volunteers for Harc events.
  • Works with all event vendors.
  • Assists with post-event reporting and analysis.

Donor Services:

  • Take an active role in the maintenance of complete and accurate records on Harc donors and donations on its Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform.
  • Working with accounting to ensure the timely and accurate acknowledgement of gifts to the organization.
  • Write timely acknowledgement letters on behalf of the CEO or Board chair for major and special gifts.

Marketing

  • Works with external partners to design organizational collateral including, but not limited to event materials, invitations, publicity, posters, brochures, newsletters, annual reports, program fliers, etc.
  • Works with Harc program staff to identify beneficiary stories that can be used to create compelling donation solicitations and marketing materials.
  • Implements marketing plans in conjunction with development goals and the organizations strategic plan.

Social Media and Website

  • Manages, designs, updates, and schedules social media posts and monitors engagement.
  • Updates Harc website.
  • Collaborates with Harc programs and services and serves as a resource to address communication needs.
  • Communicates Harcs message on all Social Media platforms.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy.
  • Represents the organization in community activities and coalitions as assigned and needed.

Harc conducts background checks and verifies COVID-19 vaccination status as part of the hiring process.
