Seasonal and Permanent Positions Available.

Job purpose

The employee on this position fill up hourly basis production target. Put pre-cut pieces of fabric together using an electric sewer machine; these pieces of fabric comes in different sizes and models. The most common machine used for these purposes is a Pfaff 1425. First, he/she places the pre-cut fabric on the machine, then he/she runs the machine guiding with her hands the fabric under the needle hole. Finally the pieces already done, she drops in a cart along her working table. The average weight of the fabric she normally handles is 2 – 3 pounds.

Duties and responsibilities

• Transfer the pre-cut pieces of fabric from the dolly to the sewer machine working bench.
• Turn on the sewing machine.
• Guide the fabric with her hands through the needle hole.
• Refill the machine thread spools.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety problems to his supervisor.

Qualifications
The employee on this position should be able to lift medium loads (up to 20 pounds).
Safety gear should be used (safety glasses).

Working conditions

Working conditions are the normal found in a clothes, furniture plant; ventilated indoor area. This job is performed mainly at 1st. shift from Monday through Friday; the operator takes 15 minute breaks every two hours; most of the time she is seated at the machine.

Physical requirements
The operator should be seated in front of the machine performing this job. There is a limited repetitive movement by the time the operator is guiding the fabric through the machine.
