WGPW’s Performance Engineer will support our organization's ability to maintain, repair and overhaul gas turbine engines used in land-based applications. The performance engineer focuses on the final acceptance test, including gas path performance, engine vibration, and other functional checks. Frequent duties include supporting test cell calibration, managing engine rejects, as well as data trending and analysis
Qualifications
· Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance
· Prior Experience in gas turbine performance testing and analysis
· Thorough knowledge of engine vibration analysis, diagnostics, root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Experience in an aerospace overhaul or manufacturing environment.
· Training or proficiency in gas turbine and thermodynamics
· Experience with modeling and analysis programs for gas turbines
· Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
· Ability to read, understand and interpret company instructions, processes and original equipment manufacturer's manuals
· Proficient in the use of computers and PC software
· Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
· Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written
University degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering; or equivalent
Responsibilities
· Frequent duties include supporting test cell calibration, managing engine rejects, as well as data trending and analysis
· Performs engineering troubleshooting related to engine performance including analyzing problems, performing engineering calculations and communicating solutions to appropriate staff
· Designs, implements and maintains diagnostic test cell tools and analysis spreadsheet toolkit
· Uses statistics to perform trend monitoring of engine test cell and engine performance
· Manages the entire engine reject process, including meetings with technical experts, members of Quality and Operations, disposition of reject NCTs, RCCA’s and personally monitoring each step of the reject process to ensure timely and successful completion of the repair process
· Troubleshoots engine vibration occurrences using advanced signature analysis methods
· Develops and oversees studies to further enhance knowledge of the subject engine (DOEs)
· Prepares guidelines for the determination of engine build criteria including routing sheets and repair methods outside of routine or currently authorized limits
· Provides performance input in determining engine workscope
· Serves as business unit liaison with central engineering on test cell facilities issues, including identifying the needs of the business unit and coordinating specifications and procurement
· Communicate with internal and external customers regarding testing activities, schedules, and technical issues

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
