Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC)* is seeking a talented GIS Analyst with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

*
Role Overview: BISL GIS DBA. *This role is a combination of a DBA, DB Sys Admin, and a bit of DB architect skills, in a GIS application.

*
Responsibilities: *

• Responsible for the administration of existing Enterprise Geodatabases on Microsoft SQL Databases
• Write complex and efficient SQL queries to analyze and update large quantities of spatial data
• Develop SSIS packages and python scripts to ETL data between databases and servers
• Ensure data security
• Make recommendations related to the performance and efficiency of data storage, usage, and collection
• Maintain data system documentation including geospatial data model and dictionary
• Work with other teams to integrate large data sets (170+ million records) into ArcGIS Portal
• Make recommendations on GIS system design, acquisition, and manage implementation of those decisions

Required Skills & Experience*

Expert knowledge and experience with ArcGIS desktop and enterprise software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Portal

• Extensive experience with working spatial data in SQL Server outside the ArcGIS software including querying, indexing, and ETL
• Experience with enterprise geodatabase management
• Proficient with SQL Server Management Studio and Visual Studio
• Ability to work with geospatial data to foster greater communication, implement industry standards and operation procedures that increase efficiency
• Ability to work within a remote team
• Ability to orally communicate technical information effectively to government managers and analysts, geospatial colleagues, and interested individuals
• Efficient in Python scripting skills

10 years of experience using ESRI software as a GIS specialist, GIS admin, GIS DBA, or other related position.

• 5-10 years of experience with geodatabase management
• A Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, GIS, geography, or related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred
• Must be a US citizen with the ability obtain a US government clearance
