Grants Development Coordinator
Job description
Primary Purpose:
- Work closely with HCDE service districts; charters; and HCDE divisions to effectively design, direct and implement diversified funding strategies and facilitate collaborative partnerships.
- Work closely with Manager and Director of Center for Grants Development to plan, prepare, develop, implement and evaluate public and private grant proposals, and other grant-assistance/related services, including but not limited to, proposal development, proposal reviews and comments, funding announcements/forecasts, grant coaching/mentoring, training, etc.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required
- Master's degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to research, prepare and write proposals, those for the federal, state and local governments and corporate and private foundations
- Ability to interface with program staff to effectively assess needs and gather required information for the preparation of applications/proposals
- Knowledge of and experience with program planning, fundraising, cultivation and stewardship activities
- Familiarity with public and private online applications
- Strong writing, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills essential
- Demonstrated competence in working effectively with individuals from diverse educational and/or cultural backgrounds
- Must be detail-oriented and an effective communicator
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Office Professional, including Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word and other related software
- Ability to analyze and synthesize public and private funding research
- Ability to work under tight guidelines and timelines
- Ability to be self-directed in accomplishing work responsibilities
Experience:
- Three years of experience and recorded success in researching, preparing, and writing foundation proposals and/or government grants
- Recorded success in raising funds for nonprofit or educational organizations, including corporations, individuals or special events
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and initiate HCDE service district and charter projects including, but not limited to, assessing feasibility of district or charter to pursue targeted grant funding, grant training, grant coaching/mentoring, proposal reviews and comments and technical assistance as requested by HCDE service districts and charters.
- Research and maintain public and private funder information and reports on trends; notify Development Associate of public and private funding opportunities as they arise.
- Develop written proposals for submission to corporations, foundation, and government grantors.
- Participate in the preparation of large collaborative grant and foundation projects with CGD Manager and HCDE divisions/service districts/charters.
- Participate as active partner on collaborative grant projects with public school districts, institutions of higher education, community-based organizations, and governmental entities. Gather and provide information requested by applying organization.
- Work with HCDE divisions to prepare and submit bid proposals to districts.
- Actively participate in development of HCDE Public and Private Funder Solicitation Plan with updates, as needed.
- Provide divisions that have been awarded grants with grant management and grant compliance training/support.
- Schedule, coordinate, facilitate and conduct online and face-to-face grant-related training for HCDE divisions/service districts/charters.
- Respond to donor inquiries with accurate and timely information, secure donor gifts and provide donors with relevant materials.
- Prepare and submit board agenda items with relevant backup for grant submission (as information items) via the Board Agenda Submission System.
- Participate on Education and Enrichment Division-Wide Team activities and other HCDE Committees/Task Forces, as requested and relevant to job functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,377.00 - $70,402.00 per year
