Groundskeeper (2 Positions: Full-Time & Part-Time 32 hours per week)
Job description
This position is assigned projects and has regularly scheduled grounds maintenance activities at the municipal golf course (27 holes and driving range), exterior grounds and parking areas of the pro shop.
- Planting, mowing, pruning, fertilizing, raking and irrigating: turfs, trees, bushes, shrubs and other golf course facilities (fairways, greens, tees, etc.) in accordance with directions.
- Following manufacturers instructions and applying fertilizers, weed killers and other chemicals for turf and course maintenance.
- Equipment used is a variety of standard golf course facility equipment (riding mowers, dump truck, power and hand mowers and hand tools) and as necessary additional equipment (backhoes, etc.) from other departments for major course modifications and changes.
- Modify course tee boxes, sand traps, greens cups, etc. to vary course play.
- Conducts general janitorial and custodial as assigned at the golf facility.
- Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.

- Must have the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Must have the ability to complete tasks as assigned.
- Ability to work in a team environment, contribute as a team member and treat co-workers and customers with respect.
- Ability to work any day of the week (weekends and weekdays) and long hours.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old.
Individuals working with chemical applications will need to have reading, writing and simple math skills. Must have physical coordination to operate equipment.
Must have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check.
Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen and functional assessment screening (Level 2).

Safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, hard hats, safety vests, steel-toe boots, back support belts, and seat belts are provided and must be worn as required by department procedures and good safety practices.
