The Head Custodian is responsible for the day-to-day facility needs of Saint Paul Diocesan Jr/Sr High School, having hands-on engagement over school facility needs. This position is appointed by the Head of School. The ideal candidate is someone who understands facilities management, takes initiative, leads projects, is a problem solver, and is a good multi-tasker.This is a (12) month salaried position. Ordinary school season work hours are Monday through Friday, 6am to 3pm.

Summer season hours are Monday through Thursday, 7am to 3pm. The salary range for this position is $57,500 - $62,500. A description of diocesan benefits can be found at https://www.worcesterdiocese.org/employee-benefits.Responsibilities and Expectations: Assists the Head of School in the facilities management of the campusLeads in-school custodial responsibilities and responds to emergenciesPerforms preventative maintenance and repair workSecures, works with, and supervises outside vendorsAssists in preparing an annual facilities budgetDevelops and monitors a daily/weekly/monthly list of custodial assignmentsDevelops and monitors a feedback system regarding the day-to-day safety and cleanliness of the buildingOversees snow removal operations, summertime deep cleaning work, and work-study student crews Maintains records in areas related to buildings and grounds managementMaintains an updated inventory of buildings and grounds equipment and suppliesSupervises the inspection and monitoring of safety and security systems (e.g., fire alarms, smoke/heat detectors, sprinkler systems, security alarms, fire extinguishers, equipment alarms) and buildings and grounds equipment (e.g., generators, lighting systems, HVAC, and plumbing)Schedules and supervises field prep and grounds workPerforms other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of SchoolQualifications: An enthusiasm for Catholic educationA practiced understanding of facilities management in an institutional setting preferredKnowledge of Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) and local building codes regarding the use, repair, and / or improvement of public buildingsFamiliarity with trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and best practicesThe ability to multi-task and address time-sensitive situationsThe ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and operate facilities equipment Possession of a certified Construction Supervisor License (CSL) or related tradesmen licensure preferredFounded in 2020, Saint Paul Diocesan Junior/Senior High School is a co-educational, multicultural, faith-filled Catholic Community rooted in God's love and the Joy of the Gospel.
