Job description
Develop your critical thinking and employer group advisory skills as a Healthcare Consultant for Blue Cross NC. You’ll leverage data and insights from various reporting platforms to build and present utilization reviews for our largest ASO (self-funded) employer groups. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong interpersonal and presentation skills, is comfortable delivering data and clinical content to non-clinical administrators and can leverage their healthcare expertise and industry experience to advise employers and brokers on health promotion strategies. This role involves travel to client meetings with Sales throughout the year.

What You'll Do

Collaborates with Data and Analytics and Sales Teams to create and deliver utilization and cost reviews to large ASO client groups.
Accesses various reporting databases to collect and analyze data, develop custom insights and make recommendations.
Consults with BCBSNC major group clients to advise on strategic, evidence-based wellness programs and evaluation.
Participates in monthly Care Management POD calls with assigned employer groups
Presents information about healthcare programming to various internal and external audiences including brokers/consultants
Communicates BCNC healthcare programs, benefits and services, medical policy, provider network/reimbursement strategies and industry best practices to positively impact cost and population health outcomes.
Works closely with Sales & Marketing staff to improve BCBSNC competitive positioning, increase new membership and improve retention.
Supports Sales in responding to business requests from client groups involving healthcare programs, operations, and policies
Shares employer-group experience and perspective with various leaders across the enterprise to maximize BCNC competitive positioning and inform strategic goals
Participates in cross-departmental workgroups and committees
Promotes goodwill between BCBSNC and the community by maintaining contact with business leaders through participation in community affairs. Projects and maintains the corporate image within the community.

What You'll Bring (Hiring Requirements)

Bachelor's degree with minimum of 4 years’ experience in the healthcare industry related to program management, health promotion, healthcare operations or population-based data analysis.
OR an advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MBA, etc.) with a minimum of 2 years of experience as listed above.
Demonstrated experience in customer facing presentations and/or negotiations.
Must be able to travel 30% of the time
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook.
Self-motivated. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced, team environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
