Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with strong leadership abilities to join the Arcadis Construction Services group in Knoxville, TN. This position will require travel.

Role accountabilities:

• Be responsible for the maintenance and inspection of provided equipment
• Follow instructions from supervision on site and carry out tasks as instructed with safety in mind
• Complete heavy equipment operations in a variety of weather conditions
• Operate equipment in a professional and safe manner - Operators will be required to complete a competency test for knowledge of equipment, inspection, maintenance and operation
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service
• Must be willing to travel to project sites that may include out of town projects. (100% travel)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance (inspections, greasing, fueling)
• Strong ability to learn quickly, analyze information, and problem solve
• Be able to take instructions from supervision on site and carry out tasks as instructed unsupervised with safety in mind
• Ability to shovel and carry materials up to 50 lbs
• A willingness to occasionally work long hours, atypical hours or weekends

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years experience with heavy construction equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience on environmental construction sites
• Previous experience traveling for work
• 40 hour HAZWOPER certified
