The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services’ (DBHDS) Office of Licensing (OL) is seeking a qualified individual to serve as one of the Help Desk Specialist for the CONNECT licensing system. This position will provide ongoing Help Desk support that includes monitoring incoming Help Desk tickets from CONNECT users who are having issues with using the licensing system; triage activities that include documenting and guiding users through email and telephone communication to reach ticket resolution; triage protocol which may require escalation of issue/defect diagnosis with CONNECT IT/Vendor experts. As time permits, the Help Desk staff will perform QA Testing of system enhancements, develop training tools for common issue resolution steps, and maintain Frequently Asked Questions for ongoing support of the CONNECT user community. This role reports into the Quality & Data Information System Manager responsible for the ongoing effective use of the CONNECT licensing system. This position is approved for 100% telework. However, staff must be available for onsite office meetings/special projects, as requested by OL, at the DBHDS Central Office in Richmond, Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience using the CONNECT licensing system. Experience providing IT system help desk resolution including interfacing with customers providing guidance, performing system diagnostics to determine if issue requires escalation, and timely resolution of all Help Desk Tickets. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner along with strong organization, written and verbal communication skills, and a team player.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within state government, familiarity with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, knowledge of Personal Health Information (PHI) security application is strongly preferred. Familiarity with DBHDS OL protocols is highly desired.
Special Requirements
