Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School, one of several academic institutions under the auspices of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America, is a college-oriented school accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

General Summary:

This position is responsible for instruction of High School Biology and Human Anatomy classes.

Essential Functions:

• Establish a culture of high expectations.
• Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with State standards.
• Assess students regularly and analyze student results; refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices throughout the school; share best practices.
• Communicate regularly with students and their families about classroom activities and student progress.
• Manage student behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged.
• Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with department chair, principal, and instructional coaches.
• Maintain accurate student records including attendance.
• Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs.
• Support the mission, vision, and core values of the School.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Excellent communication skills, especially written skills is required.
• Strong commitment to developing a collaborative team with colleagues and administration.
• Ability to work effectively and sensitively with all constituencies involved in a school; students, parents, and faculty.
