Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus is located in beautiful Sullivan, Maine. Our amazing brand new campus is located approximately 15 minutes east of Ellsworth, the county seat of Hancock County, and 40 miles east from Bangor. In addition, we are just a short drive to Bar Harbor and the beautiful Acadia National Park. Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus is home to both Sumner Middle School and Sumner Memorial High School. Our total student population is approximately 480 students in grades 6 through 12. This specific position will teach at Sumner Memorial High School (9th - 12th grades).
We are seeking a team oriented, collaborative, energetic, and creative 9th - 12th grade science teacher. This full-time position will begin with the 2023-2024 school year. Candidates should have a solid understanding of instruction and interactive best practices to enhance science learning. In addition, the candidate will be a strong team member, be flexible, have strong instructional and class management skills. This ideal candidate will have a certification, and/or the ability to obtain certification, in both Life and Physical science.
The successful candidate will hold or be able to hold a Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification: 350S (6-12 Physical Science); and/or 395S (6-12 Life Science). In addition, they must hold a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education. Must hold or be eligible to hold or be able to obtain a Maine Educator Certification with a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check.
