Settlers Bay Lodge is looking for a motivated, hardworking and positive individual to join our team. Must be fast on their feet and possess the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations. As a host, you can expect to work closely with the FOH staff to ensure a positive dining experience for all of our guests.

Daily responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Greet guests in a professional, welcoming, and outgoing manner.
• Seat tables with proper number of menus, silverware and glassware.
• Manage wait times, make reservations and properly organize them on the floor plan.
• Order taking for to-go's and employees. Quality control of orders to ensure that customers receive appropriate condiments, utensils, and all components of order placed.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining seating rotation in accordance to restaurant procedures, modifying rotation when necessary, and flow of service.
• Must maintain open communication with the servers and MOD throughout the shift to ensure a cohesive workflow for the entire restaurant. Alert the team of any large parties being reserved for the dinner service, and when they are sat.
• Some general light housekeeping required such as vacuuming, cleaning, stocking, and organizing. As well as ensuring guest bathrooms remain clean throughout the evening.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have weekends and evenings available.
• Able to meet the physical demands of working in a busy/loud restaurant.
• Organized and capable of muti-tasking with attention to detail.
• Enjoys and works well being part of a team.
• Possess positive and effective communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and professional, upbeat attitude.
• At least 2 years of restaurant experience is preferred.
