Job Title: Line Cook
Reports to: Kitchen Management Team
Compensation: Starting at $17 an hour with qualified experience

Job Summary
Every memorable dining experience at Blockade Runner Beach Resort starts behind the scenes with our culinary team’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine. As a line cook, you will be responsible for prepping and maintaining your station during service and ensuring that all food is coming out in a timely fashion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares meals within guidelines of menu(s), dietary requirements, standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and quality standards
- Prepare, maintain, and monitor quality control for hot and cold foods including but not limited to meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, seasonings, vegetables, fruits, salads
- Prepares guests and staff food orders in timely and efficient manner
- Visually inspect all food sent from kitchen to server and ensure plates are clean and appetizing
- Proactively communicates any food issues to Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station by proper care, cleaning and storage of equipment and utensils
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local, and company regulations
- Position duties may include any other tasks as deemed necessary by managers in order to fulfill the obligations of the resort
Requirements
- Previous experience in the Culinary field required
- Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift for at least 8 hours
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs., kneeling, pushing, pulling, ascending, or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
· Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Reliable transportation
· No visible piercings or tattoos; clean shaven
· Strong attention to detail
