Perform daily cleaning tasks for resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and other designated areas as assigned. Maintain Community and regulatory standards for cleanliness and infection control. Perform all tasks to assure that the Community reflects a high quality of care and appearance.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Current CPR certification preferred. Physical ability to perform manual work. One year cleaning and custodial experience. Ability to meet physical requirements of position as determined by a pre-employment physical and background screening performed by a designated medical provider.

Other Specialized Knowledge and Abilities: This position requires incumbent to have: Knowledge of safe cleaning chemicals that are non-allergenic. Exhibits a positive customer service attitude as demonstrated by being approachable, friendly, and willing to assist others. Must be adaptable and flexible in response to changing resident needs. Respects residents’ rights. Displays personal initiative to complete work without constant supervision. Demonstrates reliable work attendance and consistent completion of job duties. Addresses work-related problems with the proper individuals. Communicates resident concerns to management in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of both resident and staff information. Must present with a neat, clean appearance. Ability to understand and relate well to senior adults. Must be flexible and able to work within a diverse team.

  • Perform housekeeping tasks. Clean all common areas and rooms by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing. Empty and sanitize trash containers in common use areas. Move, rearrange, and dust furniture and fixtures. Wipe and polish exterior apartment doors, polish brass doorknobs and other fixtures. Vacuum the dining room and wipe tables and chairs after use during daytime shift. Mix and blend cleaning solutions to proper concentrations for each task and assure that the lasting odor or solutions do not cause any irritable conditions to people or pets. Clean and polish all entryway and lobby glass, doors and furniture; vacuum and mop entryway floor as needed; dust drapes and mini-blinds as needed. Buff and polish highly visible and heavily used areas needing extra attention as needed. Perform miscellaneous light repairs, e.g. plunging toilets. Performs heavier cleaning functions as assigned. These may include shampooing carpets, cleaning windows, wiping down walls and wiping light fixtures. Assists in cleaning of emergency spills when requested. Follows all infection control measures and uses Standard Precautions. Utilizes only Community-approved cleaning products. Follows product instructions for effective use and follows appropriate product safety instructions. Stores cleaning products in compliance with Community policy and regulatory requirements. Maintains and stores cleaning equipment properly after use and recommends repairs or replacement as needed. Observes and reports the need for repairs to Community equipment, furniture, building and fixtures to the housekeeping director or designated manager. 2. Perform other support functions and tasks. Attend and participate in all staff meetings and keep information confidential as appropriate. Maintain a team approach toward all staff and be a strong team member as part of the maintenance staff. Assist office staff with miscellaneous tasks as needed. Perform and assist in other assignments as needed and directed by Environmental Services Director. Position Contacts: This position reports to and is supervised by the Environmental Services Director Develop good working relationship with entire on-site staff. Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Community and establish good working relationships with executive staff. Establish positive relationships with clients and build confidence and rapport through the activities and services performed. Working Conditions: Exposure to chemicals and cleaning solvents. Work within multiple work environments and unsanitary conditions. Exposure to illnesses and frailties of clients. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priorities as urgent needs arise that require immediate attention. Works among clients, family members, visitors, and staff in a variety of situations

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
