JOB SUMMARY:

  • Individual will perform housekeeping tasks as assigned in the Hospital. Reports to the Housekeeping Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Keep premises of Hospital in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Clean hospital rooms, bath, lavatories, office and halls utilize buffing sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment as necessary.
  • Wash bed frames, brushes mattresses, and remake beds after discharge of patients.
  • Keep utility and storage room in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Operate commercial washer and dryers.
  • Distribute laundry articles and linens to various departments.
  • Ensure that the adequate amounts of supplies are available before starting the cleaning process.
  • Cut and trim grass shovel snow using power equipment and hand tools.
  • Set up tables and chairs in various rooms as needed.
  • Remove trash, etc. In various rooms as needed.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Attend staff development training as required
  • Other duties as assigned

PROGRESSION LEVELS:
Housekeeping Aide: Has less than one year of relevant work experience in housekeeping services. Starts at the entry rate of the job.
Housekeeping Aide 1: Has at least one year but less than 2 years of relevant work experience. If experience is with HCHI, performance in the job must be evaluated overall as “meets expectations” to receive progression.
Housekeeping Aide 2: Has at least two years but less than 3 years of relevant work experience. If experience is with HCHI, performance in the job must be evaluated overall as “meets expectations” to receive progression.
Housekeeping Aide 3: Has at least three years but less than 4 years of relevant work experience. If experience is with HCHI, performance in the job must be evaluated overall as “meets expectations” to receive progression.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job.
May be required to obtain a GED within six months of hire. Associates degree or college course work preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret instructions, documents and follow procedures.
Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with employees and managers
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables as needed.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to deal with multi personality types and remain calm during high stress situations.
Computer literate, working knowledge of Windows and other applications.
